Information on Botox Treatments

Botox is a cosmetic treatment used to temporarily reducing the signs of ageing in adults. This cosmetic injection, which utilises botulinum toxin type A, is used to treat and reduce the appearance of wrinkles, frown lines and crow’s feet. This is achieved by relaxing the facial muscles in a particular area. Botox injections are a relatively simple, non-surgical procedure and is ideal for those looking to minimise the signs of ageing without resorting to make invasive methods such as a facelift.

Who is it suitable for?

Botox injections are particularly suited to younger people who have wrinkles on their face and those unwilling or unable to undergo a more extensive plastic surgery solution. There are some medications that can interfere with the effectiveness of the Botox treatment and can cause bleeding and bruising. Cosmetic Botox injections should not be used when pregnant.

The process

In short, the Botox injection is administered using a small needle, which is inserted into the facial muscle. Discomfort is often very minimal and will only last a couple of seconds while it is being injected. After the injection is administered, the Botox will prevent nerve impulses from reaching certain fascial muscles. This allows the area to become relaxed, which smooths lines and wrinkles. The results of the injection will usually be noticeable within a few days, the results are not permanent however and will usually last around 3–4 months.

What are the risks?

While relatively simple and safe to perform, there are always a few risks when it comes to any medical or cosmetic procedure. Some of the most common side effects to Botox injections are:

  • Swelling
  • Bruising
  • Tingling
  • Numbness in the area

These effects can be reduced by avoiding touching the affected area. There are some instances where Botox will not offer a visible difference. Patients should also be screened for allergic reactions.

How Integral can help

Integral Medical Solutions can assist those who are looking to receive cosmetic procedures in Thailand. While cosmetic injections are available in Australia, long wait times and high prices make the procedure unavailable to some. Partnering with Bangkok Hospital Pattaya, we organise for Australians to receive the same level of medical care they can expect here in Australia at a hospital with state-of-the-art facilities in Thailand.

Taking care of the organising for you, we liaise with Bangkok Hospital Pattaya to arrange for you to receive treatment there. Before you leave, we provide a consultation with a registered nurse and we will also provide another consultation upon your return to review the results and ensure you have the effect you were after.
