A face and neck lift aims to reduce the visible signs of ageing such as sagging, droopy and wrinkled skin. Signs of ageing are inevitable, and over time a person will start to develop deep lines in the skin. These signs can also be affected by a number of factors, including stress, sunlight exposure, tissue strength and skin elasticity. Common areas that change with age are a deep crease that appears between the mouth and nose, and a jawline that sags and begins to look jowly. It is these areas that a face and neck lift hopes to improve.
Also known as a rhytidectomy, a facelift works by removing excess fat, tightening muscles and repositioning the skin. This is a procedure that can be done on its own or one that can be combined with other procedures such as a brow lift or nose reshaping. During the procedure, your surgeon may choose to remove some of the fatty tissue that is located underneath the skin. Excess body fat and sagging jowls are removed, the muscles and facia are tightened and the skin is pulled in order for the loose skin to be removed.
Neck lift surgery
As we age the skin under our chin will start to sag. A neck lift is performed to improve the appearance of the neck and jawline by getting rid of loose skin. Performed under general anaesthesia, a neck lift procedure can involve:
- Small incisions (under the chin, in front of the ear, behind the ear)
- Tightening of the neck muscle
- Removal of fat deposits using liposuction
- Removal of excess skin
- A drain to remove extra fluids to reduce discomfort after the procedure
After the procedure is finished, a patient is required to wear a compression bandage, which can help to reduce swelling. Most patients will be able to resume their normal activities after approximately two weeks. However sports should be avoided for a least a three week period.
Cosmetic procedures in Thailand
Here at Integral Medical Solutions, we understand issues faced by clients wishing to undergo a medical procedure. While we have a great level of medical care here in Australia, long waiting times and high costs can become quite stressful for potential patients. In order to avoid these issues, many people are taking advantage of the benefits cosmetic tourism can provide.
In order to help our clients receive the procedure they are after, we organise for Australians to undergo surgery in Thailand. With our partnership with Bangkok Hospital Pattaya, we can assist our clients to receive exemplary medical care that they would come to expect here in Australia, at a more affordable price in Thailand. As well as organising the procedure with the Thailand medical staff, we also provide support here in Australia too, with a pre and post-op consultation with a registered nurse.
